4 million German troops advance over the Russian borders to attack Stalingrad, Moscow and Leningrad. They managed to kill over 2 million Russian people. Though when winter hit, the German soldiers found themselves in summer uniforms not to mention, Stalin dropped in about 2 million troops to encircle the Germans when the Germans decided to attack the city of Stalingrad. Thus resulting in a soviet victory.
Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust -
The Nazi party (NSDAP) got a part of its power from disseminating an anti-Jewish propaganda.
Over 6 million Jewish people who lived in Europe at this time had been part of the outcome of the final solution. In 1933, the Jewish population living in Europe lied at 9 million, 12 years later almost 2 in every 3 European Jewish person had been killed.
Attack on Pearl Harbor -
The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor lead to the United States entering WW2, and the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The Japanese wanted to attack this specific area (Pearl Harbor), because the United States made a trade-barrier on Japan (at stated in the WW2 Overview). Thus the Japanese wanted to break this trade-barrier by destroying the United State of America’s fleet units that were stopping the trade-barrier.
Stalin and Hitler sign the non aggression pact
Josef Stalin (Russian president) and Adolf Hitler (Nazi Leader) sign the non aggression pact, meaning that they wouldn’t attack each other, thus giving Russia and Germany a lot of time to work on improving their armies rather that focus on fighting. Though this pact soon becomes broken as it is said that Germany thought Russia would attack them when they Germany least expected it, because of this, they attacked the USSR. War Henry L. Expected Germany to take over Russia in 3 months, but his calculations were off as the war went for more than a year also resulting in the loss of several German armies and the decline of Germany as a superpower.
Japan occupies Singapore.
When Britain was in control of what we know today as Singapore, Japan attacked Singapore which was controlled by Britain and Britain had to give surrender Singapore to Japan. When Japan had won the way, they had established a Shonan Japanese school to educate the natives the Japanese language. 25,000 lives were lost during this time (1942-1945).
Germany surrenders.
Germany surrenders, ending the war. In modern Germany, this day is known as the day of capitulation. They surrender because they are exhausted from the damages of World War 2, and the damages the Russians inflicted on them when they decided to attack the USSR. They also surrendered because it was too late to gain a strong army the size they had their previous army in as their campaigns came to an end.b
